4 tips to help you stop being tempted by sugar, and have a sweeter life
If you’ve ever tried to eliminate sugar for more than one day, you know that the struggle is real. We went through a 3-day sugar detox ourselves, even removing natural sugars, like maple syrup, from our diets. At #LIVEMORE we believe in balance. We don’t think you should totally deprive yourself, but taking a break from the sweet stuff once in a while is great for your body – and skin. Below are a few ways to reduce your sugar intake and stop all those constant cravings!
Add spice to your life: Spices like cinnamon add flavor and a bit of natural sweetness – not to mention some great health benefits, like a dose of antioxidants! Sprinkle them on top of your morning cereal or add them to your coffee.
Get moving: Research has shown that exercise can reduce sugar cravings. Next time you’d like to avoid eating one of those brownies your co-worker brought in, consider taking a walk around the office instead. It will get closer to your goal of 10,000 steps a day and keep you from caving in – a win-win situation.
Stay hydrated: A study demonstrates that drinking enough water – especially right before a meal – can help you consume fewer calories. If you get full during your meal, it’s less likely you’ll want dessert.
Meditate: Doing regular breathing exercises can make your skin radiant and shift your focus to something other than your sugar craving. You might even forget about that cookie you wanted 10 minutes prior, once you’re done!
Fight those cravings with our advice and you’ll realize sugar isn’t the only thing that is needed to make your life sweet.
